Our whole home Ionic air purifiers create ionization UNIFORMLY within 60 feet of the purifier. The ionic purifier creates the ions 'in place', continuously, in order to maintain the same natural balance of ionization as found outdoors in clean, healthy and unpolluted environments. Ionic air purifiers actually recreate the same fresh living air found outdoors by maintaining a
natural electrical balance in the air. As well as producing fresh air our ionic air purifiers also eliminate static electricity and are used specifically around sensitive electronic equipment such as found in computer rooms.
Ions are physical particles which do not pass through, or go around solid
objects such as a wall. Also, negative ions cannot be channeled through metal
ductwork where they would be grounded. It is these limitations which have been
overcome by our whole home ionic air purifiers and for the first time
we have the means to clean the air in an entire home using a single purifier. The unique, patented technology in the ionic purifiers creates ionization on the other side of walls, floors, ceilings and closed doors.
Ions are found in the natural outdoors at typical levels of
4000 negative and 3000 positive ions per cubic centimeter and
this is the same natural ratio produced by our ionic purifiers. Outdoors,
ions are produced naturally by solar radiation and electrical
thunderstorms. Indoors, there are very few ions and the balance
is mainly positive ions.
By using an ionic purifier to add negative and positive ions to
an indoor environment, airborne particles will take on this
electronic charge and be attracted to appositely charged particles
which become heavy enough to be settled to the ground by gravity
or the charged particle will be attracted to grounded objects.
Either way, the particles are now out of our breathing space.
Ions are molecules that carry a charge of electricity.
The smallest
particles floating in the air are classified as "Condensation
Nuclei" and range in size from 1 nm (1/1,000,000 of a micron)
to 0.2-1um (1/1000 of a micron) in diameter and consist of solids,
liquids, or a mixture of both. Within this range are viruses (10-250
nm) and small bacteria (0.2-1 nm). The smallest and intermediate
CN remain suspended in the air for very long periods of time and,
in this respect, exhibit a behavior similar to that of the atoms
and molecules of gases.
During inhalation, CN penetrate with the inhaled air into the
alveoli (tiny air-filled sacs in our lungs); thus they traverse
the entire length of the respiratory tract. In contrast, dust
particles are intercepted by the "filters" of the upper respiratory
tract. Deeply penetrating CN can adversely affect us if they
consist of poisonous or allergenic substances, or if they contain
viruses or bacteria.
As proven by Maczynski & Falkiewicz at the Balneoclimatological
Institute in 1973, it is safe to assume that particles of CN
(not necessarily all) in the range specified above are removed
by ionization.
Verzar et al (1967) have shown that in the pure (almost CN
free) air of the high mountains, solar radiation (ionization)
generating mostly negative ions causes a temporary rise in CN
concentration which is then deposited via opposite polarity
attraction or by gravitational forces, thus lowering total CN.
Outdoors, the natural balance of ionization causes CN to aggregate
together and form large aggregates - known as dust particles.
In our indoor environments this process is missing for the most
part due to a lack of negative ions. Electrical appliances and
air movement through heating and ventilation ductwork produces
a preponderance of positive ions. Positive ion environments
can make us feel uncomfortable, irritable and have been associated
with headaches, fatigue, depression and restless sleep.
In nature, ions are generated in abundance by ultra-violet
light from the sun, by lightning and thunderstorms, by friction
within wind and rain, the splitting of water into droplets by
waterfalls and surf, and by natural radiation in rocks and soil.
Places we find refreshing such as in the mountains and near
waterfalls and seashores - where health resorts are traditionally
situated - are found to have high concentrations of negative
ions.
Our ionic air purifiers use a technology that is
proprietary and unique to all other technologies
available today. The ionizer section of the ionic air purifier
emits a frequency that releases ionic energy into the air as it
travels to all parts of a home within a 60 foot radius; on
the other side of walls, floors and ceilings. The ionic purifier
continually produces 4,000 negative and 3,000 positive
ions per cubic centimeter within this area. This breakthrough
technology allows us the means to clean the air in an entire building
rather than just a single room. It also eliminates the need to
use large fans to propel ions from the ionic air purifier. |
