For ease of use and functional efficiency the control panel of the IQAir gives the user total control of the air cleaner as well as helps keep the unit operating at peak performance. The Smart Filter Life Monitor tracks the life of each individual filter to maximize performance. It calculates remaining filter life down to the hour, based on actual usage. Indicator LED's alert you when it is time to change filters. The Six Fan Speed Settings allows you to find the base sound/performance ratio for your particular use. The unit can be set to operate at the times you need it by setting the Programmable Timer. It can be set to turn on and off at predetermined times. Gas Filters and V5 Cell Technology IQAir's modular design takes advantage of independent multi-stage filtration. Each filter stage is contained in a separate filter element. Many conventional air cleaners feature one of two types of filters for gases or odors. The least efficient consist of activated carbon pads where carbon dust is glued to a synthetic fiber pad. The second type, granular carbon, is more efficient in absorbing gases and odors. Unfortunately, granular carbon drastically reduces the airflow capacity of air cleaners, making them less effective in improving overall indoor air quality. The HealthPro Plus uses revolutionary V5-Cell technology to provide superior removal of gaseous pollutants and odors. Rather than just using common activated carbon, the V5-Cell uses a special five pound blend of broad-spectrum gas and odor control media. As a result, the HealthPro Plus is able to capture a broader range of contaminants and odors than conventional air cleaners. The IQAir uses a method of circulation that eliminates the immediate recleaning of already clean air. This is achieved by having the air intakes far away from the outlets.
